Growing Chilli From Seed

This is something i have been wanting to try for a very long time and finally taken the plunge to give it a go.

Date: 30/05/15

Chilli Seeds i plan to plant are:

  • Jalapeno Early
  • Scotch Bonnet Red
  • Sweet Banana
More varieties next year but as this is my first ever attempt don't want to get over confident.

I will be using:

  • Thermostat controlled heated propagator set to 28c
  • Small orange pots 8cm i think
  • John Innes seedling compost
  • Vermiculite
7 days went by and here is what we have: (Showing Jalapeno early 07/06/15)

Seedlings separated into individual pots:

Progress on 19/06/15:

So seedlings are now exactly 3 weeks old and doing good in my opinion. Have all been fed once a week on watered down tomato feed.

4 Week Progress to follow soon..

First post and want to welcome you to my garden related blog, i am very new when it comes to the whole gardening scene and all my knowledge and expertise is what i have gained from an extremely keen and talented gardener that is my grandmother.

Over the course of this year i will attempt to grow many varieties from seed including sunflowers, chilies, fruit plants and trees.

Most of my growing began in April and although this was a late time to start, most things namely chilies they are all coming along rather nicely..

So relax enjoy and feel free to comment and ask questions whenever you may feel the need.
